Sissy Shopping: Fabulous En Femme Thrift
Hello my cyber lovelies! Did you know that while I was in high school and prior to being a little bondage-bunny and daring dominatrix I worked at one of the snazziest upscale consignment stores in the District? I have worn many hats (both literally and figuratively) and while there I developed a taste for jewelry design, fashion sketching and a lifelong love affair with shoes (not to mention guided feminization, non-coerced sissy dollification of cute en femme gurls on the make -but more on that later 😉 ). My passion for fashion has only grown more fervent since.
We were even lucky enough to have illustrious visits from star studded glitterati like Debbie Harris (she was a doll BTW) June Carter Cash (she came in before I worked there but still aweseome) and even hosted several local news crews covering chic DC boutiques & they stopped by to check out our fashion flair.
It was like one big communal closet of couture and I felt like I was on a constantly revolving treasure hunt where new bounty and baubles awaited with each ring of our store’s door bell.
Life is unpredictable and with time many time-sensitive trends will come and go but a cashmere sweater properly cared for, classic trench dress coat and the perfect pair of vintage earrings will last ya for the long haul.
So I thought I would give you some tips and tricks for staying well-heeled and stylish without breaking the bank. Now don’t get me wrong you are worth giving in to the urge to splurge on those fashion staples you can build a fashion foundation upon but with a few savvy shopper tips, you can get the most bang for your buck and still have your cash stash for other femme essentials.
Stay tuned for Part 2!
Ms. Fiona, you are not only sexy, but smart, too! How nice to advise your sissies on how to be the fashionistas they were meant to be on a budget they can afford to be! There is no shame in buying vintage, and that can be so chic! Great posts for your lovelies, and I am anxious to read part 2.
Aw smart and sexy? Well it takes one to know one beautiful 😉 I’m so glad you are enjoying the post. I must say that at least 40% of my wardrobe is made or bought at vintage/consignment places. 😉

Hello there darling,
Now I have never been to these places in person so while I can’t personally vouch for them, I found their sites to be very impressive which is auspicious. I hope to visit them at some point as I have friends not too far from the Prussia Mall and want to get familiar with the PA area. I’m in MD near DC and love exploring. I hope these help. I can let you know if I go this summer how they were or perhaps if you get there first you can let me know what you thought about them.

What a helpful -and entertaining- post, Ms. Fiona! Some of the most delightful finds can be discovered in consignment shops and thrift stores. Since it sounds like you worked at quite the nice consignment shop, I was wondering what you recall as some of the most unique or otherwise memorable items were that you saw during your time there. By the way, don’t be surprised if I hit you up for some jewelry ideas, since I now know of this particular talent of yours. 😉
Oh I am embarrassed to admit I bought more than I made when working there but it was totally worth it. I think my fave finds include a Nicole Miller Marilyn Monroe-styled dress with a deep sweetheart neckline, only in red not white, a jade carved dragon pendant, some beautiful Tiffany earrings and necklace sets, vintage clamshell-shaped beaded evening bags and way more 925 sterling rings (a few made from antiqued silver spoons) than necessary for two hands lol. However, my Nanette Lepore trench is my all time favorite. It would be so fun shopping together!
