Girl Crush
To add to my collection of girl crushes I have a tie for two this July: Audrey Hepburn and Jean Shrimpton
Often imitated but never duplicated: Authentically Audrey
Audrey Hepburn: Who else can look effortlessly elegant while drinking milk from a wine glass and using a tub as a sofa a la Breakfast at Tiffany’s? Even though her character Holly Golighty, based on Truman Capote’s famous novella was supposed to be an utter mess, she was a wondrous, glorious, and magnetic mess who is beloved by generations. She brought a depth, class, audacity and edge to that role that can only be described as purely Audrey. All while being effortlessly heart-achingly adorable!
Jean Shrimpton: Flower Power and so Much More…
Jean Shrimpton: Athematic to the swinging 60s, Mod fashions and Go-Go girl chic, Jeannie was not only considered one of the world’s first super models, she was also a bit controversial and daring fashion-wise for her day. In 1965 she caused a bit of an uproar at the Victoria Derby Day when she appeared wearing a white shift dress several inches above her knees with no hat, gloves or stockings. Instead she flaunted a man’s watch to complete the ensemble. A scandalous iconoclast made all the tongues waggle! ????. It’s no wonder she inspired The Smithereens song “Behind the Wall of Sleep.”
She had hair like Jean Shrimpton! I love that song. Great post Ms Fiona and how cool is Audrey Hepburn and Holly Golightly?
All while being effortlessly heart-achingly adorable!
Just like you.;)
Oh you are such a sweetie! Thanks again for the terrible inspiration suggestions
Wow, Fiona! Of course everybody knows Audrey, but I had never heard of Jean Shrimpton until now. Not only does her name sound delicious, but she’s quite the goddess as well. Both women were certainly known for their ability to captivate members of both genders, I’m sure. And apparently, I have Wetspot to thank for the super hot tip. If you want a vamp, go shrimpton!
Wetspot has impeccable taste. Apparently we both like the same kinda ladies 😉 Thanks so much for reading!
Audrey is one of my original goddesses and alter ego. She has this special powerful magic I can’t explain. I want to be hear, yet romance her, charm get and be charmed by her. Yet I also feel that powerful surge of desire for her. She’s tied with Marilyn Monroe for helping make me the gender fluid pan omnisexual I am today. The third of that goddesses trinity is my beloved Enchantrix Fiona of course. You are in the best of companies, my love.
Oh I can totally see that Audrey magic in those gorgeous eyes of yours!!
Neither one effected me much
That’s ok all the more for me 😉 heehee
